Day 56

The adventure continues, having now been in Canada for 8 weeks. Has it really been that long since I last got to listen to my favourite speakers in the entire world?

Having been here a while it feels like home. That might sound strange - how can a place I've been for such a short time feel like "home"? - but it does. There's nothing about Canada that really strikes me as different. Oh sure, small differences (like the really annoying habit of not including tax in 90% of prices, and of course different things attract GST, PST, both or neither) and slightly bigger differences (there's quite a lot of people here), but nothing hugely earth shattering. Can I see myself living here for quite a long time? Quite possibly. That depends on how other things progress.

I want to do some exploring over the weekend, but I'm really not sure where to start. I think I also need to find a LUG, or perhaps a MacUG, as I really ought to start networking with local tech types.

On a final note for this entry, I must write my "zomg, ponies! or Why the hell is the RAZR so popular?" thoughts. It's... really being pushed here. I think being in the position of having owned one for 3 weeks (having been given it by insurance), and essentially dumping it to buy another phone gives me a decent perspective of just horrible a phone it really is. Next time.
