Day 31

So it's been a little while since I posted with an update with regards to the ongoing adventure I'm finding myself on in this foreign land. I've been here 4 weeks. Holy cow. This also means I haven't actually been "working" for nearly 6. I haven't gone this long in over 3 years. This has led to me feeling somewhat bored.

Fortunately for me last week saw a new rise in interest with regards to employment opportunities, and the week culminated with a job offer. If you have to think about whether I accepted it or not please reread the previous paragraph. So, I start on May 29th. That does however mean I have one more week to fill, in which I should hopefully get some pay for some work I've done in my "spare" time over the last week or two.

One of the good things to come of the job interviews was a need to travel enough that I could justify an $8 day pass. I got some excellent value out of this on Thursday, taking a total of 13 trips. Friday slightly less so, in that all I managed was dropping by Metropolis at Metrotown, catching Over The Hedge (which was great - suited my desire to laugh quite nicely, and dang, they've really got the fur thing down... are they using the stuff Pixar wrote for Monsters, Inc.?) and purchasing a DVD player - hey, it's my birthday this coming Wednesday, I think I'm allowed the odd extravagence.

With only one last thing to cover, my server going kaboom (a reboot from which that install did not recover), and that's not really exciting anyway (it's back up, obviously), I'm going to sign off.
