I'm very much against turning this here into something where I post an entry each day saying "I'm alive", which has the unfortunate consequence that for very many days you just don't see anything posted.
I've seen a number of movies (United 93, RV, Ice Age: The Meltdown, and Mission: Impossible 3), and spent time mastering the public transport system (including purchasing additional fare saver tickets.. I feel almost like a local), and the variety of stores that one goes to in order to find things. I guess that's the biggest culture shock is not being able to walk into a mall and know instinctively what shops you'd go to when looking for, say, a keyboard. (Which, incidentally, is when I discovered London Drugs stocked Apple gear, including their bluetooth keyboard, of which I now own my second.)
I'm sitting here (it's mid afternoon on a Sunday), and I'm listening to National Radio's 9 till Noon programme (or at least that's what it was called when Kim Hill was at the helm). This brings home to me that with an internet connection you can live almost anywhere. There are small differences, like the TV channels, and the network name that appears on my cellphone screen, but nothing huge.
