I set myself a rule upon arrival that I must do at least one thing each day. I find I need to set myself rules like that one, because otherwise it becomes really easy to just sit chatting to people who are 19 hours ahead of you through the internet.
Today's thing was moving in to my new place. Well, I'm sharing it with the guy who owns it. He's gone off to Vancouver Island for the next couple of days, so the place is eerily empty in that way that places you aren't overly familiar with can be.
I checked out the closest mall, well one of them. It had shops. It was eerily familiar. The food court was upstairs, and had a place that sold roast. I'd like to say I can resist roast, but I was hungry, and even when I'm not it's really really hard. The other stores were... lacking. I'm the kind of person who needs music playing, so the first thing I'm going to buy once I've allowed myself to spend money (read: when I have signed a job contract) will be either a stereo or an iPod hi-fi. (The latter because it fulfils all the stereo needs I have: take sound from input - preferably optical - output it through a speaker or two.) I couldn't find a reasonable (ie. in the CAD$200-400 range) stereo that I liked. I guess I'll try a proper mall (Metrotown maybe?) next week.
Photographs of the new place will show up online in the next day or two.
