I was doing so well there for a couple of days, but now, just when you thought I'd given up again... I'm back! Hah! Take that internet.
Well, I can't honestly recall much of Saturday. I rode my first bus, my first skytrain, and saw the first room I was thinking about renting. Sadly (for my wallet) I won't be choosing that particular place (while it had a roof, and seemed secure, it... well, it was cheap.) I discovered a nice chinese place called "Pacific Wok", which was moderately cheap, yet very tasty. (Let's face it - tasty was the important part of that quest).
Yesterday I headed out to Horseshoe Bay (photos to show up on [flickr][1] soon), which is a good hour out of downtown. It's a very... North American suburb from the movies looking place. Discovered a place that sold fish and chips (fresh cod, and the chips while... slightly odd were quite good, and with a can of coke incl. tax only $7.76). It's the kind of place that has a combination supermarket and video rental store.
I've applied for a few more jobs, enquired about a few more places to live, and have at least one job interview (assuming I don't screw it up), and am thinking about attempting to acquire a bank account. Will let you all know how that goes.
(Oh, and it's ANZAC Day in New Zealand today. Take a moment to remember not only those who died in the world wars, but also those who died as a result of injuries/illnesses acquired while at war. Whatever your opinion is of war, many of them deserve to be remembered.)
