Mac mini

It arrived!

I thought it would never happen, but of course as soon as I spent the money it did. That's alright, except for two days after it arrived the hard drive died. So Monday after it was repaired I got it back, proceeded to take it apart (using the network cable method, which I'll link to later) using no putty knives, and installed a 1GB ram stick (cost NZD$194).

It's excellent. I have it hooked up using a DVI cable to my Phillips 170B 17" LCD, and I'm loving it. It's somewhat faster than my iBook (G4 800MHz, only 384MB of ram). I got the 1.42GHz (so 80GB drive) with bluetooth (why it took so long), and am using it with the Apple bluetooth keyboard & mouse I bought last year.

Anyone feel like donating a 23" Cinema Display? Ok, so I'm not seriously expecting anybody to be quite that generous :)

Did you buy the RAM in NZ? If so, could you say where?
