What's going on?

Today saw the removal of WordPress and the the pushing of Rebuild Site in MovableType to build the new "Patrick's Soapbox".

Things are a little messy around here, and the reasoning behind the move will not yet be apparent to you. In fact, lets face it, it's quite incomplete. The homepage is there, as are the RSS feeds, and individual entry archives. Other archive templates are in the process of being thought about written.

People might question why on earth I'd switch from WP to MovableType. I'm probably one of them. My reasoning is that I want the more sophisticated template support that is found in MT.

In addition to the move to MT you'll see a new look. Enjoy. It's inspiration comes from kottke.org and (yet again) daringfireball. The output from MT is pure XHTML, which should reduce the PHP load that my former site produced. (Not entirely WordPress' fault, more that of my layout classes, which had a whole load of XML stuff being loaded.)

That is all.
