I installed WordPress 1.2 today, initially in it's own little test bed, and pushed all of my b2 entries into it.
Amazingly this basically worked (I had to go into the database and manually set my base URL - as it didn't seem to pick that up). It even supports your blog and it being in different places. This is good! (I like the actual folder for patrick.geek.nz to be squeeky clean, no messy blog .php files and the like.)
It posts to LiveJournal. This is good.
Perhaps the coolest thing of all is the support for MarkDown (albeit not translated before posting to LiveJournal) on both entries and comments.
- It makes lists as simple as putting an asterisk at the beginning of a line.
- So simple.
- Although you won't see it in all it's list glory on LiveJournal.
Relatively smooth process, the long part was translating into my websites template system. I resorted to using obstart(), obgetcontents(), obend_clean() to get stuff into the sidebar (which is now somewhat more useful). I also have some other plans for it, and cutting down on the number of items in the list (how to handle archives? categories?).
Right.
Bed time.
