Today

Spent 24 hours with no internet access (due primarily to the phone line being 100% dead).

Visited Renaissance, had 256mb of ram fitted, to bring it up to the 384mb that I had in the original ginger. I now have a 128mb PC2100 DDR SoDIMM sitting here. If you have use for such a chip, contact me. We can arrange something. May sell it on trademe. It's Samsung ram, so fairly decent quality I assume.

I ordered an 3com OfficeConnect 802.11b/g AP from Ascent. At only $206.60 it was the cheapest by at least $3 for a g AP (according to PriceSpy), and $6 for a 3com one.

I got Hugh a DSE PCMCIA 802.11b card yesterday - version 3 appears to be yet another variation in chipset - that doesn't like Windows managing it at all. The software looks like they stole the skin from WiMP. But it works. It's based on a RealTek chipset this time.

I think that is all for today. Unfortunate that.
